Transient absorption spectroscopy (TAS) is a powerful tool for studying ultrafast excited-state dynamics in molecular systems. This technique provides direct insights into the evolution of transient species and electronic states on femtosecond to microsecond timescales. In this presentation, I will introduce TAS and demonstrate its utility through the example of singlet fission in diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) derivatives. Singlet fission, a process where one singlet exciton splits into two triplet excitons, is of great interest for applications in optoelectronics and energy conversion.
