Activities

    OW-CPMT is an innovation centre focused not only on its own basic research, but especially on the combination of basic research, targeted applied research, development and practice. The work of the centre also involves actively searching for the results of research projects obtained in other departments of IMC AS CR suitable for transfer to industrial applications.

Other examples of activities of the centre:

• fundamental research on polymers
• applied research;
• cooperation with industry;
• methodical cooperation with other laboratories of the institute;
• maintenance and supplementation of instrumentation equipment;
• other training of laboratory personnel;
• scientific education of students of doctoral study programmes;
• organization of workshops for experts in practice.

    Complex equipment of the Centre and experiences of personnel are used for study and development of various types of polymer materials from plastics for general applications to materials for medicine and electronics. The Centre is also engaged and responsible for environmentally-focused projects such as procedures for plastics recycling and development of plastics from renewable resources.
